Dog had an ear infection. Called at 11 oclock and was offered an appointment at 11.30. 88.84 later ?I walked out with pain kiillers and antibotics. Just feel the prices are silly.
I will start with a positive note: The reception team is amazing, outstanding, 5 stars. They are very helpful and polite. The real big issue are the veterinarians. My first terrible experience will be the one I will never forgive them for. My dog, a 9 years old westie, had a stroke on August 2017, and I ran to this practice, because it was the nearest one. I stayed all day in the reception waiting for news and the vet was kind at the beginning, but he was not allowing me to see my dog. Because I didn't leave the building all day, he finally allowed me to stay with my dog for an hour, before they closed. I didn't sleep that night and I cried all night hoping that my dog would survive, and he did. He managed to survive and improve. I was the first person at the clinic's door, waiting for them to open and when they did it, a short, strong, female vet (I don't know her name, reason why I gave the description) told me: your dog it's alive, but you need to take him to another practice in Cambridge or euthanize him here today. Obviously I chose the second one. I paid my bill and I requested to take the saline solution with the medicines that I had already paid with my dog, but they refused. I saw my dog losing his life in each breath on our way to Cambridge. He was better at the clinic, but he arrived in coma to Cambridge, and he died a few hours later. I blame this practice for my dog's death. I cannot see a reasonable motive to send him away, when he was improving, except that day was Saturday and Monday would be a holiday, and they probably didn't want a dog there. From my point of view they should have wait a few more days until my dog was strong enough to face the travel until Cambridge. He was responding well to the steroids and recovering from his stroke. I will never forgive those vets for it.Obviously I have been avoiding this practice with all my strength. But my other dog, a 12 years old shih tzu, had a surgery booked in another practice (02.01.2019), and it was canceled due her liver values be so high. I was afraid that she would get worst and I decided, in the spur of the moment, to repeat the exams and try to find the cause. The clinic where she will be doing the surgery is 7 miles (ca. 11 km) away and I needed to work that morning, so I thought: it's just a hemogram, they will not do something bad with a hemogram... So, against all my feelings regarding them I went to the practice to do my dog's hemogram, o a Wednesday (09.01.2019), and the vet answered my questions, but she told me that the exams would be ready next day, Thursday, and I went to the practice again, Thursday afternoon, but they were not ready yet. I waited all Friday to be contacted, but nothing happened, then I called Saturday, and I was informed that a vet would call me back, but that only happened next Monday (14.01.2019), and the vet didn't even know anything about the hemogram. I requested the exams to be sent to my email, but waited all afternoon and I only received them when I spoke with the reception team (the reception team sent it to me, not the vet). It's a terrible service from the veterinarian's team. I would not recommend it to no one. As I said the receptionist team it's outstanding and it's a shame that the vets don't follow their good example and try to excel themselves too.
Only recently became a client, but they seem like a really great vets. My German Shepherd is 9 and is very nervous of strangers and other dogs - Chris (our vet) was kind enough to meet us at our car and take us through a side entrance to avoid other animals.
Staff very accommodating and always able to work with you to achieve what you need for your furry friend. Great facilities. Huge free car park and competitive prices. Would highly recommend.
