The Cliff always had a good reputation for good food but they let themselves down on this celebratory occasion. One dish had cold baked potato and the roast beetroot salad had no beetroot which when pointed out the very helpful server took it back to the kitchen only to reappear with 1 slice of pickled beetroot from a jar on top with the offer of a free drink. Upon complaining that roast beetroot as a central part of the dish was missing a refund was forthcoming. So thanks for ruining a special meal but thanks for admitting the faults.
My family and I went to The Cliff Hotel for afternoon tea.It was to celebrate my mum's 88th birthday, the food was excellent and they offered soft drinks for free, which pleased my grandchildren!!!I was really surprised about the price.I give The Cliff Hotel 10/10.Well worth a visit.
Friendly staff, nice surroundings and a good range of items on the menu. Always seems busy which is probably a good sign. A reasonable sized car park but there is plenty of on street parking nearby.
Surprisingly good breakfast. Popped in for breakfast because Margos was packed. I did expect the breakfast to be good but didn't expect it to be cheap. It was fantastic and at same price point as most standard cafes. Great coffee and service. Now living closer to the area I'll be sure to visit again soon.
Lovely location, terrible for parking. Portion size small for the price paid. I had Hunter's Chicken, the chicken was delicious. I was looking forward to triple cooked chips fried in beer dripping. Only had 8 chunky chips to accompany my chicken and they were not fully cooked. So quite disappointing.
